Work Experience

Ø  09/2018~ To Date: Postdoctoral Research fellow, Department Of Chemistry, National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan.

Project Title: Nanomaterial mediated photodynamic therapy to boost immune response for eradication of tumors.

Educational Background

Ø  2012-2018: Doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in Chemistry at National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan.

Thesis title: Nanomaterial-mediated boron neutrons capture therapy and photodynamic therapy for the destruction of tumors.

Qualifying examinations cleared during Ph.D.: 1) Analytical Chemistry (Chemical separation) 2) Bio-chemistry 3) Materials chemistry.

Courses under taken: 1) Analytical techniques for materials chemistry 2) Trace analysis 3) Analytical mass spectrometry 4) Nanomaterials chemistry 5) Transmission electron microscopy.

Ø  2011-2012: Worked as a Teaching-cum-Research Assistant at IIT-Chennai, India.

Research Interests

Ø  Design of novel multi-functional nanostructures for various biomedical applications, related to early detection (MRI, fluorescence imaging, photoacoustic imaging) and cancer therapy (drug delivery BNCT and phototherapies).

Ø  Photochemistry  of  various  metal  nanoparticles  and  their  localized  surface  plasmon  resonances (LSPRs).

Ø  Fabrication of 10B enriched nanostructures for optical imaging and Boron and Gadolinium neutron capture therapy of various cancer.

Ø  Successful recipient of Tsing Hua Scholarship for three consecutive years (2012-2015) during my doctoral study.

Ø  Recipient of CTCI scholarship award in honor of outstanding performance award for excellence in research (16th Dec 2017) at Taiwan

Ø  Materials Synthesis: Experienced in preparing variety of nanomaterials, such as gold and silver nanoparticles, metal-filled carbon nanoparticles, and boron based nanomaterials.

Ø  Surface  modifications:  Experienced  in  doing  surface  modifications  to  nanoparticles,  such  as, targeting ligands, peptides and antibodies.

Ø  Materials Characterization: SEM, TEM, TGA, UV-Vis-NIR, Raman, DLS and Single Photon Counter (Steady state measurements)

Ø  Biology Experiments: Experience in handling mammalian cell cultures, Drug Delivery and Photodynamic Therapy in Cancer Cells, Flow Cytometry FACS Calibur, Fluorescence Microscopy, Confocal Laser Scanning Microscopy (LSM 700), Boron neutron capture therapy in cancer cells and invivo.

Ø  In vivo Experiments: Experience in handling mouse animal models (Intravenous administration of nanocarrier/drugs, IVIS imaging and immunological / histological tissue examination), Boron Neutron Capture Therapy, Photodynamic, Photo Thermal and Immunotherapy mice models.
