This may sound cheesy, but it’s true.
The coolest thing about my job is to change people’s lives, tens of thousand (and growing) every day.
When patients around the world (mostly USA and Canada) are suffering from their chronicle conditions, struggling to understand the complicated procedure options available, fighting with fear and unknown risks, my animations and software are my moral support to each one of them.
So, when people from everywhere tell you: “How did you know? This is exactly what happened to me!” “Ohhhhh! I got it! This is so easy to understand!” “Where were you guys 10 years ago?” at the end of that day, you check the server status, turn off the lights and close the door behind you, with a big smile on your face.
In the past 7 years, I have been leading the work to design, develop, maintain & update 5 successful products simultaneously, they gained thousands of loyal customers and many reputable corporation partners over the years.
As a Visual Artist with skills in 2D/3D, I blend 3D animations with motion graphics, to create really cool and soothing videos to demonstrate how those bloody surgeries are executed. No blood, no pain, just fancy slick explanatory animations with beautiful imagery to convince you how beautiful the world will magically turn into, once the surgery is completed.
As the Product Designer & Manager, Outsourcing & Development Manager of above 5 products, I design the software’s infrastructure, features, UI/UX (User Interface & User Experience) to serve different roles using my graphic design skills and in-depth understanding of the customer’s needs. I recruit contractors around the world to collaborate with our in-house teams, and monitor their progress and hours. I design promotional materials, multiple departments workflows, provide training to the support team, and monitor products’ daily operation.
At the end of the day, when I turn off lights and close the door, I know another day of my life is well spent.

As the Product Designer, I do a competitive analysis, then utilize my graphic design skills, and my in-depth study of the customer’s needs, to design the software/web application’s features, UI/UX (User Interface & User Experience) that satisfies very different groups of users. Then, as the Product Manager, I help the marketing team to come up with the marketing strategy, design the promotional videos & web pages and instruction documents, design the workflow to integrate multiple departments to work seamlessly together, and provide training to the support team, and monitor the products daily operation.
As the Outsourcing & Development Manager, I recruit contractors with proper skill levels and proposals around the world to collaborate with our in-house teams to complete the products, and monitor their hours and progress, communicate with CEOs and internal departments. With my good understanding of the software scope and structure and my years of experience working with developers, I can confidently estimate the cost, keep the progress and budget within a reasonable range. Sometimes I will also creatively adjust the product designs if it can help push the development forward while maintaining the quality and user experience.
These contractors came from many different time zones, with different background cultures, very very different personalities and point of views, but at the end, I made so many friends in so many countries. Now I can visit these countries without paying for hotels. :-D
