About the Department The Legal and Secretariat function is comprised of the Legal and Secretariat teams. The Legal team works closely with all functions across the Group to provide timely, accurate and practical legal support. This facilitates decision-making in the delivery of efficient service to our customers, while ensuring that the Group’s interests are protected. The Secretariat team supports the boards of UOB and its Singapore subsidiaries in the discharge of their responsibilities and provides advice on governance matters. It also facilitates communication between the non-executive directors and senior management, and manages the induction and professional development programme for directors.
Job Responsibilities A role to provide exclusive legal support for Group Corporate Banking. Responsibilities include:
Handling multiple ongoing transactions for facilities granted to large private or publicly-listed local or multinational companies
Providing commercially sound legal advice in a prompt and timely manner which will both address the Bank’s requirements and customer’s needs
Managing and maintaining an overview of the legal risks for CBK and updating/creating guidelines or processes where necessary.
Job Requirements Requirements:
At least 10 PQE corporate banking lawyer
Experienced in handling financing and banking documentation for major banks and financial institutions
Ability to handle multiple transactions and provide prompt commercially sound advice while protecting the Bank’s interest
Good stakeholder/counterpart management skills required
Ability to work independently and also a team player
