Intro

You will partner with Product Owners, Designers, and Copywriters to create engaging and memorable digital experiences for mobile, tablet, online, or TV.

In this role, you will apply hands-on UX research practices and methodologies for integrating user research into product designs and design practices. You will also guide the team in various tasks, from troubleshooting and responding to maintaining state-of-the-art lab spaces.

Key Responsibilities

• Work hands-on and lead design research projects to deliver on multiple concurrent projects from concept through completion.
• Understand and incorporate complex technical and business requirements into research.
• Implement processes and precautions for the protection of research participants’ interests.
• Support research lead to building a culture of insight-driven product design and development
• Collect and analyse user behaviours through in-depth qualitative research, mixed methods, lab studies, field visits, ethnography, surveys, benchmark studies, workshop facilitation, online experiments (A/B testing) and other appropriate methodologies.
• Create artefacts and frameworks to ground teams in customer centric thinking, such as journey mapping, blueprinting, personas, etc.
• Identify research opportunities and new ways to support and improve team processes.
• Provide direction and mentorship to junior researchers.
• Evangelize the value of design, UX, and research value to diverse audiences through written reports and oral presentations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Design, Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Experimental Psychology, Information Science, related field
• Min. 2 years experience as a senior researcher or research lead in a product/service design consultancy or (preferred) as part of an in-house product design/UX research team.
• Experience in managing research projects of different settings (e.g., scales, products/services, product stages) within cross-functional teams is a plus.
• Experience integrating user research into product designs and design practices.
• Experience planning, executing and analyzing qualitative and quantitative research. Have strong understanding of strengths and shortcomings of qualitative and quantitative research methods, including when and how to apply them during each product phase.
• Experience in writing project briefs and scopes of work, estimating work effort, and managing resources.
• Proficiency with project management and research tools (e.g., JIRA, Asana, Basecamp or Trello, Lookback, Optimal Workshop, Maze, Data Studio, Dovetail, Tobii Eye Tracker, Google Analytics, Content Square, etc.)
• A strong self-starter who is curious, resourceful, adaptable and comfortable to deal with ambiguity.
• Effective interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills.
• Powerful written, verbal, and visual communication skills, and demonstrated the ability to use communication skills to problem-solve
• Excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization skills
• Self-directed and takes initiative in tackling problems
• Exceptional team player with experience leading large, complex team structures
