Overview The role reports to the Head of Tax and is a member of the Tax Management Unit within the Finance Department. Primary responsibility of this role is to advise the Bank of its tax obligations, execute our tax governance strategy and provide tax support on its transactions. Relevant taxes for this role include corporate tax, indirect tax (such as GST) and other taxes impacting the Bank directly. Responsibilities As the specialist for legal entity tax matters, you will
Provide tax advisory support to the Bank’s tax compliance processes and transactions.
Execute the Bank’s tax governance strategy and perform quality assurance on the end-to-end tax processes to ensure operational compliance.
Monitor and assess new tax rules or upcoming changes for impact to the Bank, update stakeholders and support projects that are impacted by such tax changes.
Advise tax implications arising from international travels on both Bank and staff.
Provide tax support to Finance on tax provisioning and tax reporting to Group.
Liaise with Group Tax on Group level projects and tax matters.
Act as point of contact and liaise with IRAS, MAS or other regulatory agencies as directed by the Head of Tax.
You will have many opportunities to participate in the Bank’s major projects and initiatives, work with colleagues on client tax matters, and also be able to upskill in the different tax areas and other skills.
University degree in Accountancy, Taxation, or equivalent higher education.
Professional certifications such as CPA, CA, ATP, ATA preferred but not mandatory.
Minimum 12 years’ relevant tax compliance and advisory work experience in both Singapore banking corporate tax and GST.
Knowledge of individual income tax and transactional taxes will be helpful but not mandatory.
Able to work independently, self-motivated to make things happen and meet deadlines.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, highly analytical, meticulous and organised.
