We’re looking for a candidate to fill this position in an exciting company.
Invest in training, up/cross-skilling, and people development
Prepare persuasive summaries to assess micro and macro risk. For large deals, present to a Global Credit Risk Committee is vital.
Perform concurrence reviews for deals within your assigned approval authority
Lead all aspects of the pipeline of new merchant applications through to completion, ensuring the team operates within SLA and meets quality standards
Collaborate closely with Commercial team on high profile and strategic opportunities to ensure a white glove underwriting experience
Establish close rapport with partners in Sales and Customer Success Management, hosting regular forums with key partners on risk related topics
Collaborate with other key business partners who work closely with Underwriting including: Risk, Scheme Compliance, AML Compliance, Legal, Product, and Support
Identify areas of process improvements and drive initiatives to streamline efficiency
Participate in cross-regional projects within the Underwriting organization to bring unity to processes and tool
Assist Financial Partnerships team with internal and external audits
Minimum of 5+ years of merchant service work experience related to merchant underwriting and/or commercial lending
Minimum of 2- years of management experience
Advanced knowledge of financial statement analysis
Experience in preparing and approving credit packages
A collaborator – someone who has previous experience liaising between various departments and person
Strong analytical skills – must be able to analyze complex data, draw meaningful conclusion, and make holistic business recommendations
Experience with concise written and oral presentations
Highly curious and thoughtful – a proactive self-starter with a sense of urgency and bias for action in a fast-paced environment and a desire to get to the source of anything even the least bit fishy
An acute sense of right and wrong with the calculations to back it up
Leadership skills for guiding, supporting, coaching and mentoring peers
Ability to navigate difficult conversations and negotiate with clients on adverse issues
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics or equivalent experience required
