We’re looking for a candidate to fill this position in an exciting company.
This position requires a keen interest in both real estate and capital markets as well as affordable housing and community development.
Analyze and identify risks on new transactions, convey decisions on loan approval (or bond purchase), structure and risk rating.
Prepare annual and periodic risk reviews and assist in the documentation and closing of clients’ financing agreements.
Monitor and review exposures related to a portfolio of structured loans and debt securities while ensuring compliance with credit and equity policies.
Participate in customer calls, attend bank/customer/site meetings and assist in the development and implementation of appropriate client account strategies.
Assist in the remedial management of obligors/relationships with emphasis on optimizing the recovery and proper documentation (reviewing legal docs, preparing classified credit reports, participating in classified reviews, etc.).
Assist in the preparation of Prepare portfolio reviews, product programs.
Communicate assignment requirements and bidding out commercial appraisal or environmental assessment assignments to vendors. Determining reasonableness of fee quotes.
Perform critical reviews of externally prepared commercial appraisals or environmental assessments.
Provide market intelligence to the structuring team on a specific deal and prepare internal valuations.
Select and engage external valuers based on experience, capacity, competitiveness, etc.
Objectively provide risk managers with a balanced view of the risk associated with a given property.
Liaise with external valuation firms to arrange internal/external property inspections in a timely manner.
Ensure valuation reports are ordered and received from external valuation firms in a timely manner.
Minimum 8 years (post qualified) of commercial and residential valuation experience.
Must hold a current appraiser license and a member of SISV (RICS, API, etc. will be an advantage).
Experience in risk management within a financial institution preferred.
Must have a strong sense of the characteristics that can affect value in the Asia Pacific region.
Work well under pressure and able to multi-task.
Requires basic commercial awareness. Additionally, the candidate should possesses proficient analytical skills and an ability to communicate reviews and reports both in writing and in oral presentations. Computer, analytical and quantitative skills with ability to perform credit analysis. Proficiency in MS Word , Excel and Argus, as well as database management experience. Excellent attention to detail. Willingness to learn new products. Comprehensive understanding of applicable industry regulations and standards (i.e., USPAP, FIRREA, ASTM).
