Job Title: Quantity Surveyor Specialist

Job Purpose

• To assist the Project Management Team and in particular the Construction Manager in the material control, tracking and documentation, from supplier handover up to storage in Contractor’s premises and utilisation by Contractor.
• To organize and coordinate the material follow-up.

Key Job Accountabilities
1.Assist the project management team and in particular the Construction Manager, in the material control, tracking and documentation, from supplier handover up to storage in Contractor’s premises and utilisation by Contractor.
2.Establish with Contractor a system to track and report the daily use and location of used or stored material according to nesting plans. Monitor the trend of contingencies and verifies that no shortages are foreseen.
3.Agree and validate measures of installed quantities with Contractor in full accordance with the contractual method of measurement; preparing progress valuations, reports and forecasts to completion of all activities
4.Issue a weekly material status report to the Project Management Team.
5.Participate in pre-shipment activities from supplier and Contractor’s receiving activities, including damages, shortages or quarantine material.
6.Maintain a register of material issues and participate to their prompt resolution.
7.Expedite required documentation to handover to Contractor or receive from contractor when related to material.
8.Contribute to close-out report, including disposition of left-over material.
9.Attend to meeting as requested by Management

Part B: Person Specification – Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

• High school level.
• Training and experience in material management and storage.

Knowledge and/or Experience

• 15 years of experience in the oil and gas industry for material handling, expediting and shipping.
• Worldwide experience with contractors in particular those involved in the construction of Offshore production facilities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on teamwork and the ability to communicate and interact within a PMT.
• Application and in depth knowledge of stakeholder specifications and a working knowledge of Industry standards.

Technical and Business Skills

• A good proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Ability to communicate with Contractor’s team and obtain required information as requested by his supervisor/manager.
• Experienced with shipping and material documentation
• Computer literacy involving the regular use of professional office applications to prepare status of material.
