Responsible for overseeing the administration, programmes, and strategic plan of the organization. Other key duties include Finances, Budgets, Human Resources, Communications, Marketing, Strategy and Public Relations. As managing director, you will work with the Director to oversee the operations of the company. Specifically, Governing Board and Governance
Work with the Governing Board to fulfil the organization’s mission • Responsible for communicating effectively with the Board and providing, in a timely and accurate manner, all information necessary for the Board to function properly and to make informed decisions
Oversee organization of Board meetings.
Work with Corporate Secretary to ensure all Board meetings and Board resolutions comply with Singapore laws and are submitted to the appropriate authorities Organization Mission, Communications, Strategy and Public Relations
Works with Board and staff to ensure that the mission is fulfilled through programmes, strategic planning and community outreach
Works with the Director on the strategic planning of the organization to ensure that the organisation can successfully fulfil its Mission
Maintain close, positive, and professional relationships with grantors, universities and other research centres
Responsible for the enhancement of the organisation image by being active and visible in the community, working with other entities to enhance the organisation public image
Occasionally serving as the organisation primary spokesperson to the organization’s constituents, the media, and the general public Financial Performance
Work with the Director to ensure the financial health of the organization
Responsible for submitting to the Board proposed annual budget and financial statements, which accurately reflect the financial condition of the organization.
Responsible for fiscal management and along with the Director, be responsible for planning and operation of annual budget
Responsible for payment of invoices and management of bank account
Ensure that accounting books accurately reflect the financial position of the company
Responsible for the statutory annual financial audit and for entity, programmes, and projects audits
Work with tax agent on annual the Organisation tax payments Human Resources
Responsible for the recruitment and retention of competent, qualified staff
Establishes and implements employment and administrative policies and procedures for all functions and for the day-to-day operation of the organization
Oversees periodic and day-to-day management of staff including performance reviews and assessments, annual leave, wellbeing, and payroll Requirements
Requirements:
BA in business administration or relevant field; MA/MPA preferred
7+ years professional experience within the Education or University Industry is a must
Excellent organizational and leadership skills and familiarity with management best practices
Self-starter that can work and problem-solve independently and define plans, strategies, and approaches after a short practice
Knowledge of and experience with academic research processes and academic administration processes.
Background in science is an advantage
Understanding of corporate finance, accounting, and budgetary management – Excellent communication, interpersonal and self-managing skills
