We’re looking for a candidate to fill this position in an exciting company.
Lead global, cross-functional team in developing, communicating and executing/developing a cohesive commodity strategy to provide lowest total landed cost materials to global design and manufacturing locations, while ensuring that supplier base provides the component technologies and responsiveness required to meet the end-product technology roadmaps.
Benchmark commodity industry and perform cost-plus analysis to ensure world-class pricing is obtained.
Responsibilities include supplier identification, quotation, negotiation, selection, qualification, contracting and management for global aggregated demands.
Identify lowest total cost solutions and drive qualification and approval in designer applications.
Develop, maintain and enforce approved standard supplier and component lists to be used in all new designs.
Identify sole and single sourced component usage, which jeopardizes continuity of supply, and develop solutions to reduce risk.
Negotiate supplier inventory arrangements and lead-times to support customer responsiveness and manufacturing flexibility at individual sites.
Support local buyers, designers and contract manufacturers on supplier issues. Manage supplier performance, ratings, forecasting and reviews.
Maintain centralized commodity database, utilizing supply chain management tools (SAP), to ensure that information is correct and usable by all global locations.
Master / Degree in in Business Administration / Purchasing / Material Management / Science or Engineering or Equivalent Experience plus CPM/CPIM Certification.
Minimum 7-10yrs experience in procurement of, or related experience in, electronics (experience within the power supply, electronic component manufacturing and/or distribution industries is a plus).
Knowledge of and experience with OEM and Distribution channels of supply.
Knowledge of ROHS compliance requirements.
