Manager, APAC Accounting Transformation Permanent

We’re looking for a candidate to fill this position in an exciting company.

• Oversees the completion of complex analytical assignments/projects and preparation of accounting related reports.
• Leads accounting projects to ensure compliance and adherence with controls for internal policies and external regulations, specifically local statutory requirements.
• Provides subject matter expertise on Generally Accepted Accounting Principles to support the proper treatment of business transactions for both US, and applicable country, GAAP.
• Key contributor to the month end close, financial statement analysis and other tasks related to the maintenance and/or reconciliation of accounting records.
• Coordinates and oversees activities relative to internal controls, documentation and testing and segregation of duties (Sarbanes Oxley or local equivalent, where applicable).
• Possesses sufficient accounting acumen to review the work of others and analyzes the output for appropriate accounting treatment, completeness and accuracy related to general accounting.
• Contributes efforts in developing, implementing, and maintaining systems, procedures and policies for the group; leverages system and technology knowledge to drive simplification efforts.
• Effectively engages to successfully complete multiple and diverse projects; is accountable for the related accounting treatment, completeness and accuracy of the work product.
• You’re organized and practical, and a strong communicator. You know both US GAAP, and local GAAP/IFRS accounting inside out, but you’re also an effective and inspiring manager. People look to you for your expertise-but they look up to you for your leadership.

• A Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
• Business level proficiency in Mandarin and/or Cantonese to service regional clients/stakeholders.
• CPA certification (or local equivalent such as ACCA, ACA or CIMA)
• Experience managing a team of professionals.
• Experience managing the activities across multiple countries within the Region and with experience of transitioning activities
• Demonstrated Shared Service Center experience within a global, publicly traded company
• Understanding of FASB, SEC requirements, SOX compliance
• Experience designing and implementing accounting systems, running continuous improvement projects, and conducting root cause analysis.
