The candidate will be part of the Regional IFRS17 IT team to implement a base IFRS17 solution for Great Eastern Life (GEL) Group that will be used by all GEL entities (Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia). The candidate is expected to deliver quality work with compliance to our Group IT processes and standards.
This candidate is responsible to manage project implementation end to end throughout the project life cycle, including but not limited to requirements gathering, design & development, testing, deployment and post implementation and subsequently into the BAU/system maintenance activities.
The candidate is expected to work hand in hand with project team members and users, so as to support operation continuity and business growth, while delivering quality work with compliance to our Group IT processes and standards.
In addition, the candidate is expected to contribute towards all non-project initiatives, such as IT Process Improvement following the CMMi framework and other QA-related activities.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Work closely with users and team leaders within IT to define business needs and objectives of new application system development or enhancement to existing.
Review and advise in planning, directing, controlling, safe guarding, risk evaluation, budgeting, feasibility study, development, support IT PMO activities, maintenance and implementation of System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) activities.
Act as a Business Analyst lead role to assign work and guide the team of Business analysts in completing project tasks during each SDLC phase.
Manage and coordinate the activities of a team of business analysts and developers based in Malaysia during the project phase, and subsequently maintenance and support staff during BAU phase.
Manage and monitor project implementation to ensure quality delivery that realize business benefits within approved project scope, time and budget.
Together with the solutioning vendor based in Singapore, work closely with the key stakeholders or users in Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia to close business or technical issues or gaps to ensure completeness and totality in IFRS17 solution.
Control and manage resources across project work streams in Singapore and Malaysia.
Prepare RFP, assess vendor proposals and recommend solution which is best met business needs and objectives.
Ensure system development processes and system outputs are conforming to regulation requirements and guidelines.
Identify training needs and career development of reporting staff.
Takes accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and takes appropriate steps to mitigate the risks.
Maintains awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company.
Highlights any potential concerns /risks and proactively shares best risk management practices.
