We’re looking for a candidate to fill this position in an exciting company.
The Group Tax Manager is responsible for all the tax advisory in the area of tax planning, tax business operation, tax compliance and tax controversy and support Corp Tax and Trade to optimize the tax position both locally and MS global.
Partner with business leaders, internal tax and trade teams, finance, operations, treasury, legal teams, external advisers on various business and tax planning matters, developing tax-efficient business models for new and existing businesses by providing both direct and indirect tax guidance as appropriate.
Track tax legislation changes and optimize tax opportunities for the company, update business units and function units on the applicable regulatory changes that impact them and assist with defining and implementing appropriate local country tax planning strategies.
Review contracts and collaborate with tax and legal department to ensure contracts contain key terms that are consistent with global tax structure and to minimize potential tax risks to the company
Lead/support tax audits including coordination with other tax teams, trade, finance, legal and outside advisors.
Developing relationships and interacting with tax and regulatory authorities, as appropriate.
Work with MS Corp TP team to manage TP related matters such as preparation of TP Documentation and monitor intercompany transactions, etc.
Development and monitoring of the tax risk management and governance framework, policies, procedures and controls.
The ideal candidate will have developed a strong knowledge of APAC tax laws and regulations as they apply to multinational corporations with minimum 12 years of relevant tax experience, preferably at a Big 4 CPA firm and U.S. multinational corporation operating in the region. Some international tax experience including a general understanding of basic U.S. corporate tax principles and the provisions of international income tax treaties is preferred.
Preference may be given to a candidate with strong tax knowledge of Australia, New Zealand and Singapore.
Preference may be given to a candidate with an advanced degree in taxation or law.
Industry experience or working knowledge of the tax issues affecting the IT or software industry is a plus.
