Fixed Income Risk Manager Permanent

Job Function Summary

We are looking for an individual to be responsible for the risk management of Fixed Income Portfolio Managers (PMs) based in Asia, and share responsibility for assessment of any global PMs trading Asian currency Fixed Income products.

Principal Responsibilities

• Monitoring all common measures of portfolio risk, at individual PM level and in aggregate

setting, monitor, and considering risk guidelines and risk limits

• Monitor profit and loss and other performance measures.
• Interface with PMs, understand the rationale for strategies, communicate important themes within the Risk Group,
• Understand the liquidity of various positions well and interview incoming PM candidates, subsequently provide independent assessment of their candidacy from a risk management angle.
• Discussing with incoming PM candidates how their guidelines and limits will be set, in concert with other senior members of the Risk Group
• Evaluate the methods used to calculate local risk measures, drive development where needed.
• Evaluate new product requests for suitability and fit within our risk management framework
• Monitor intraday trading against various limits, follow local market developments, including significant market movements, central bank actions, important research insights, changes in market structure or liquidity
• Attend regular global Risk Group conference calls to share information and provide insight and work with analytics developers and technologists to help drive development and delivery of Risk Group priorities

Qualifications/Skills Required

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a trading or risk management role in Asian currency Fixed Income products.
• Minimum of 10 total years’ experience in Fixed Income trading, Fixed Income risk management, Fixed Income structuring, Fixed Income quant modeling/research, or Fixed Income sales.
• Must have good facility with Statistics and financial products modeling techniques.
• Programming experience in Python, R, VA, SQL etc is a plus.

• Must have a very strong product knowledge in Asian currency Fixed Income instrument with an understanding of historical market evolutions.
• Proactive communicator, be willing to provide objective challenges when needed, raise attention to important matters and seek information actively
• Willing to learn any important products/markets which job requires
