Summary of role

• To be Editor of Teller, the OCBC Group’s inhouse news portal – and OCBC Heritage, its digital museum – producing content (both written and video) and shaping direction and staff engagement.
• To play a leading role in improving the quality of OCBC Bank’s ‘written’ communications to customers. This includes assessing, editing and otherwise vetting copy – for screens, apps, correspondences, marketing material etc – as part of a rigorous process that the Editorial Team governs.
• To guide, train and support Bank writers as a champion of good writing. In this respect, he/she will shoulder a share of Secretariat duties for a Bankwide cross-functional Council that oversees all our customer-directed writing.

Qualifications
Qualities required
(1) Excellent, grammatically faultless editing skills and a flair for writing, with ideally experience in journalism/publishing; you must perform these functions creatively across different modes of writing including social media, marketing-type writing and electronic media;
(2) Familiarity with website maintenance, video, page layout and design – and relevant software – a strong advantage;
(3) A sustained passion for improving the customer’s experience in all spheres;
(4) Excellent inter-personal skills and minimally a willingness to develop teaching/coaching and training competencies;
(5) An analytical mindset, coupled with a lively interest in seeking practical improvements via an problem-solving approach that cuts across disciplines;
(6) An ability to multi-task and work to deadline, operating both alone and as part of a team.
