Olea is a digitized platform aiming to bring together businesses requiring supply chain financing with investors who invest in trade finance assets as an alternative asset class. It will be a joint venture between Standard Chartered and a leading technology company in China. It combines Standard Chartered’s expertise in trade and investors with the technology platform of the partner. Headquartered in Singapore, Olea’s ambition is to become the leading platform in originating and distributing supply chain finance assets globally.
Olea is setting up a green field CI/CD pipeline and deployment to AWS. The technology stack is relatively new to the developers and a cloud-first approach is also required. Due to cooperation of multiple parties, we are favouring a zero-trust security model setup for everything that we do. We are looking for someone who is familiar with these technologies and patterns to guide us to the correct strategy for setting up our plant.
Beyond the technology, Olea aspires to have a technology organisation based on true DevOps culture where the gap between Dev and Ops is as small as possible. For that to work, maximising automation is key and the candidate will need to set this up with a mark of success being whether developers are able to take true ownership across the SDLC from not just coding to meet requirements but also take responsibility for delivery to production and ongoing stability. The candidate will need to set up the environment for this culture to work and govern its control through strong governance around release management, production management, incident/problem management etc.
Initially, the role would largely be as a hands-on individual contributor but on day 1 will already have to guide and manage the members of our partner who already have some cloud/devops expertise. As Olea matures, in-house team capability will be built to support our operations.
