We’re looking for a candidate to fill this position in an exciting company.
A focus on Investment Decisions and Big Data analysis – The Investment Researcher will be expected to work alongside our investment teams to analyse and answer investment-relevant questions through the analysis of disparate datasets. As investments would cover a wide range of sectors and markets, the Investment Researcher is expected to gain understanding of companies, sectors and markets quickly and ask the right questions of the relevant datasets. Some experience in fundamentals/bottom-up investment research in public and private markets would be preferred.
Data analytics/infrastructure – The Investment Researcher should be able to perform simple data analyses, i.e. querying data from central databases to answer certain investment-related analytical questions. The Investment Researcher will also be required to develop a deep understanding of individual datasets (how they can be best utilized, what are their limitations etc.) to unlock insights and facilitate investment discussions/decisions.
External data suppliers – The Investment Researcher will need to manage external suppliers or service providers in data sourcing and data management.
Min 2 years of experience, preferably in a private equity, equity research or management consulting role
Background in Investment and Finance is essential, either via employment or education
Strong research and analytical skills, commercially astute and able to connect analyses with the investment thesis
Strong written communication skills for conveying analytical insights and driving key investment discussions/decisions
Specific experience in using alternative data sources as well as investing experience is preferred
Experience with Python programming and SQL would be a plus
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage & build trust/credibility and strong relationships with investment teams, data suppliers, and IT/infrastructure providers
