We’re looking for a candidate to fill this position in an exciting company.
Design, implement and monitor comprehensive and effective compliance programs for the organization, including an anti-corruption program.
Create policies, templates, guidelines, packaged knowledge, toolkits, processes and procedures as necessary to enable the organization to adhere to compliance laws, regulations and internal policies.
Evaluate and implement tools to improve efficiency in compliance areas.
Conduct training to create awareness and accountability on compliance related matters and to promote the expected behaviours.
Strategize, advise, and consult senior executives on compliance related matters representing the organization’s interests.
Work with personnel from the various business units and functions to identify compliance risks and issues proactively on projects and propose effective, innovative and value added solutions to management to mitigate such risks/issues. Advise employees on regulatory compliance, adjudicate on regulatory issues pragmatically and provide relevant thought leadership support /materials in relation to risk mitigation strategies.
Exercise good judgement leveraging knowledge in the relevant areas of expertise and utilize previous experience in the application of the relevant policies having due regard to the relevant risk context.
Act as an escalation point for issues/ challenges faced by the organization on compliance issues.
Conduct training to align the organization’s personnel on compliance laws, practices and processes as well as risk management
Conduct compliance checks to assess the organization’s compliance to the relevant laws, regulations and polices.
Stay abreast of relevant developments affecting the organization, its clients and industries and synthesize the information to incorporate it into the organization’s practices.
Law Degree and Compliance/ Data Privacy experience
Minimum 10 years post-qualifying experience in a law firm or in a fast-paced corporate legal group – Experience in working in challenging business environment with proven capabilities in organizing, summarizing and presenting complex information.
Possession of good knowledge of relevant laws.
