We’re looking for a candidate to fill this position in an exciting company.
Produce and distribute prospect research in various formats needed for prospect identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major gift prospects, including individuals and organizations
Analyze and synthe accumulated information to assess philanthropic tendencies, giving propensity, financial capacity, and connections to the institution
Provide recommendations on cultivation and solicitation strategies where appropriate
Proactively identify prospects and collaborate with gift officers to identify the best means of prospect engagement
Implement and maintain a comprehensive prospect management system in partnership with key advancement staff
Assist with the maintenance of prospect management data to ensure it is optimized for effective portfolio management and institutional reporting
Prioritize and track requests and follow-up actions, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of information
Manage prospect development resources and serve as the main contact with appropriate vendors related to research, wealth screenings, etc.
Serve as a subject matter expert on prospect development best practices and preferred resources, providing training to advancement colleagues as needed
Maintain knowledge of units, programs, and regions represented by the University and its alumni and constituents, as well as economic trends affecting constituents
Bachelor’s degree in any discipline
3 years of related experience in prospect development or advancement/alumni relations, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience in nonprofit development, particularly in fundraising, campaigns, prospect research, and prospect management strategies
Proficiency with prospect research, prospect management, and wealth screening resources
Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to express information clearly and concisely, whether written or verbal
Ability to think analytically
Ability to discern data quality discrepancies that require further investigation
Ability to prioritize work with a high degree of independence while exercising critical thinking skills to determine best use of time and resources
Ability to manage several projects simultaneously, set priorities and meet deadlines
Ability to work well as part of a team, with a high degree of customer service skills
Experience with the Microsoft Office suite of products, including Word and Excel
